Ben Greenfield Podcast, Butts, and Peeing on a Fire Hydrant

The above clip is from the Ben Greenfield Fitness Podcast. Recently, I’ve been doing all kinds of things to help rehab my hips (especially hip flexors) and my knees. I am really focusing on the weakness in my left leg, which creates some imbalance. I can trace this back to knee and ankle injuries that started when I was sixteen. These problems are mainly from surfing, and since I am an older “back-foot” surfer and a regular foot, my back leg (right) works significantly harder than my left when I’m surfing. I’ve never addressed this issue, and with the increase in my racing and training, these old injuries and the imbalances have been flaring up and giving me trouble. In the podcast, I ask Ben and Brock if there is a connection between feet and glutes due to an usual event a couple weeks ago; they do a great job of providing some fun responses and useful advice.
