Trail Run with Lily / Heavy Machines Leaving Martin’s Dairy

I wish I would have had my camera this morning. Lily, my Irish Setter, went on a run at Dairy this morning with me. Talk about a happy dog. I don’t think she’s ever been happier. I ran about 4.25 or so miles and she did at least 4.5. She leads but checks in all the time and runs around in the bushes as well. Conditions were great. The Compromise Trail is much better. Rode it on the bike yesterday as well. Much better on the bike; it is still tough on foot.

As we were leaving, I briefly spoke to one of the guys working for the company that roller-chopped the woods. They were loading up the machines of destruction and heading out. He said they were done and “hopefully” wouldn’t be back, though the piles of former living plants, trees, and shrubs are still slated for the matchstick sometime in the not too distant future.
